Freshwater Reels
Freshwater reels can get just as fancy as your saltwater variety. With fresh water, you have numerous styles to choose from. If your into Fly fishing, then the reel style is specific to fly fishing and won' work well with a standard lake fishing outing.
Reel choice is a personal preference. I prefer to use a closed face Rhino for lake fishing simply because they seem to give me much further distance when casting. Getting out far during the warmer months in Arizona is important.
I little trick I learned for trout fishing is to tie your own gang hook. This is two hooks tied approximately 1 inch to and 1 1/2 inches apart. You have to order them but it's just as easy to tie them using a Berkeley Tri line Knot. This allows you to have two different baits on the line and see which one they are hitting on the best. This method has landed me many a limit days.
