Fly Fishing takes a lot of practice to get good at. I've seen expert fly fisherman whip a nymph into a 6 inch cropping 30 feet away. The bait mimics live bait hitting the surface of the water and no fish can resist a good bug snack.
As with other reels, there are many different style of fly fishing reels to choose from. Unlike other casting methods with other reels, fly fishing can be thought of as a real skill. Other methods rely on a weight to pull line from the reel during the forward motion of a cast. A fly on the end of a fly reel is too light be cast and can not be cast in the same manner. The person has to manipulate the line and whip it out in a series of snaps and make the fly on the end look like its a bug hitting the water.
I personally don't fly fish but have a lot of respect for those that know how. It's a skill I would someday like to learn. Below you will find a list of good fly reels on auction right now.
